SJ30 type rating

The US Federal Aviation Administration has issued the first customer type rating for the Sino Swearingen Aircraft (SSAC) SJ30 light business jet. The rating was issued to Hamish Harding, chairman of Action Aviation, which acts as SSAC's distributor for much of Europe and the Middle East. SSAC offers training to SJ30 customers, comprising a minimum of 48h of classroom instruction and up to 26h of flight training.

Pilot Training

CAE and Flight Options have signed a four-year contract extension worth $30 million, under which CAE will remain exclusive provider of Flight Options pilot training through 2010. Raytheon-owned business jet fractional ownership provider Flight Options will send all of its pilots for training at CAE SimuFlite's Dallas Fort Worth training centre. Flight Options' fleet comprises Beechjet 400As, Embraer Legacys, Hawker 400XPs and 800XPs and Cessna Citation Xs.

A330 completion

Swiss completion centre Jet Aviation Basel has won a contract from an unnamed Middle Eastern customer to outfit a VIP-configured Airbus A330-200 twinjet. The aircraft will arrive in Basle in January 2007 and the completion is expected to take 15 months. Jet Aviation has begun working on a full-size mock-up that includes the A330's main lounge, private areas and dining and executive rooms.
