CONCEPT QUEST

Quest Aircraft has selected Wichita-based Millenium Concepts to design and build three basic interior packages, including an executive-style cabin, for the Kodiak single-turboprop utility aircraft. Certification of the high-wing Kodiak is set for later this year.

NTSB PROBE

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is to look into several general aviation safety issues, including those affecting very light jets, helicopter air tours, human factors in glass cockpits and ageing of general aviation aircraft structures, says new chairman Mark Rosenker.

PINNACLE SALE

US time-critical package carrier AirNet Systems has sold its charter business, Jetride, to Pinnacle Air for $41 million. Pinnacle’s executive charter fleet includes nine Bombardier Learjets, two Dassault Falcons and a Cessna Citation, which are based primarily in Arkansas, Connecticut and Las Vegas.

CAE APPROVAL

CAE Simuflite has become the first Dassault-approved provider of maintenance training for the Falcon 50, 50EX, 2000, 2000EX and 2000EX EASy, with approval of pilot and maintainer training for the new Falcon 7X expected soon.

BAY EXPANSION

The US Federal Aviation Administration has approved the relocation of Florida’s Panama City – Bay County International airport to a new greenfield site. At the same time, SheltAir Aviation Services has acquired a fixed-base operation at the airport, which it plans to expand following the relocation.

AEROCOM BOOST

International Communications Group has introduced the AeroCom 1100 cabin telecommunications sytem for small to medium-sized business jets, which is compatible with Inmarsat and Iridium satellite communications.
