CHINESE LEGACY
Embraer and Minsheng Financial Leasing have signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of up to 20 business jets. Minsheng's purchase plan is in line with the company's long-term aims of expanding its executive jet fleet and becoming "the top executive aviation leasing institution in Asia", it said. Embraer secured an agreement in April with Chinese Aerospace company AVIC to produce the super-midsize Legacy 600s and large cabin 650s in Harbin, targeted mainly at the Chinese market. Until late last year, the facility housed ERJ-145 regional jet production. Minsheng's orders could be firmed up in the next five years, leading to first deliveries in late 2011.

Gamba - most recently deputy secretary general of the Association of European Airlines - will take over the role on 1 September from Brian Humphries, who will remain as president of the Brussels-headquartered trade body.
