LEARJET PROBE

Bombardier has selected Goodrich's SmartProbe air data system for its Learjet 85 midsize business jet - the first application of the SmartProbe on a Learjet type. Work will be carried out by Goodrich's Sensors and Integrated Systems team in Burnsville, Minnesota. SmartProbe provides all critical air data parameters - including stall protection - to the aircraft's flight control, pilot display and other systems. The all-composite Learjet 85 is scheduled for service entry in 2013.


SMART SOVEREIGN

Egyptian charter operator Smart Aviation will take delivery this year of the first two Cessna Citation Sovereigns certificated for medical evacuation operations with a dual-patient loading utility system from medical interiors provider LifePort. The deal is part of a six-aircraft order from the Cairo-based company, which services the Middle East, Africa and Europe.


SINGAPORE MAINTENANCE

Jet Aviation Singapore has expanded its base and line maintenance service offerings to include base maintenance for Bombardier Challenger 601/604/605 and Cessna Citation XLS business jets under the company's EASA 145 maintenance approval. The list of aircraft serviced by the facility now includes BBJ and Bombardier types - including the Global Express and the full range of Gulfstream jets. Jet Aviation has also begun to offer 24/7 line maintenance and aircraft on ground support at its Vnukovo airport facility in Moscow.


TBM 850 TRAINING

Simulator training provider SimCom has installed a Daher Socata TBM 850 flight training device at its Orlando, Florida training centre. The system features the single-engined turboprop's Garmin G1000 integrated cockpit and new high-resolution visual system, which offers day/dawn/dusk/night or continuous time of day operation. It features more than 15,000 light points per channel with 2.5-arc-minute resolution and uni- and bi-directional light point lobe patterns.
