COLLINS ACQUISITION
Rockwell Collins has completed the acquisition of AR Group and its affiliated companies including Houston-based Air Routing International. The purchase is designed to extend the Collins line beyond products and systems "to bring value-added applications and services for flight operations". Thirty-year-old Air Routing offers trip planning services to business aircraft flight departments, as well as online access to its flight support tools, including weather services, flight planning services, fuel arrangements, international trip handling and concierge services.
PIPER DISTRIBUTOR
Piper Aircraft has selected Aviall Services as its global parts distributor, providing supply chain support for the company's global dealer network and individual customers. The Dallas-based Boeing subsidiary says it can "offer customers more than two million catalogue items available through 39 customer service centres in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific".
OFFSHORE DELIVERY
Eurocopter has delivered two EC145s to Argentinian offshore operator Helicopteros Marinos. The light twin-engined rotorcraft will enter service with the Buenos Aires-based company this month. The EC145s will be used for search and rescue operations and offshore transport for oil company Total Austral covering oil rigs up to 110km (60nm) off the Argentinian coast. Both EC145s are equipped in an eight-passenger configuration with weather radar, cockpit voice and flight data recorder and usage monitoring system as well as an HF radio.
SERVICE CENTRED
Embraer has officially opened its service centre at its headquarters in São José dos Campos dedicated exclusively to executive jets. The 1,620m2 (17,440ft2) facility offers scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the Phenom and Legacy families of executive jets. Embraer says its fleet of executive jets has grown rapidly in Latin America in recent years, where its inventory includes 11 Legacy 600s, more than 10 Phenom 100s and 100 orders for business jets.
