WAAS OFFERING
Cessna is offering wide area augmentation system upgrades for Citation CJ1+, CJ2+, CJ3 and Encore+ business jets as well as certain Citation Excel and XLS models. The modification is available across the nine Cessna-owned Citation service centres. WAAS gives pilots improved global positioning system navigation accuracy, allowing for greater access to many airports in difficult weather conditions. Cessna says a WAAS installation for the Citation Sovereign should be available later this year.
ECLIPSE SERVICE
Eclipse Aerospace has established its first platinum service centre in Europe for the Eclipse EA500. The facility, in Istanbul, will provide modification, servicing, maintenance repair and overhaul and Avio cockpit and flight into known icing upgrades for operators of the very light jet in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
HANGAR EXTENSION
Jet Aviation has expanded the hangarage at Zurich International airport base by 500m2 (5,380ft2) allowing the business aviation services provider to accommodate up to three additional aircraft. The company also opened its refurbished client lounge and new client offices at the same site.
ROYAL APPOINTMENT
UAE-based business conglomerate Al Habtoor has appointed luxury business aviation services company Royal Jet to manage its Embraer Lineage 1000 business jet - the sale of which was co-ordinated and managed by Abu Dhabi-based Royal Jet.
GLOBAL ADDITION
German operator FAI rent-a-jet has added a Bombardier Global Express to its 19-strong business jet fleet. The long-range business jet will be operated by FAI's Swiss subsidiary Nomad Aviation.
REPAIR APPROVAL
US business aviation services provider Business Jet Access has received FAR Part 145 repair station approval, paving the way for the Dallas, Love Field-based company to expanded its on-site maintenance services to include routine inspections, repair and troubleshooting for the Cessna Citation 650 series, Dassault Falcon 900 series and Hawker 800 series of business jet as well as Honeywell TFE731 engine derivatives.
