EXECUJET GROWTH
ExecuJet is adding a 4,830m² (52,205ft2) hangar to its Dubai-based facility. The new construction - to which ExecuJet has committed under an initial three-year lease - complements its existing maintenance, charter, management and fixed-base operation facility at the international airport site. ExecuJet has also added a mid-size Hawker 800XP to its Dubai-based managed fleet. The UAE-registered aircraft joins two Bombardier Challenger 605s that were added to the managed fleet in June.
LINEAGE MILESTONE
Embraer's Lineage 1000 executive jet demonstrator has made history by completing the longest distance ever flown by an Embraer aircraft, says the airframer. In its first non-stop flight from Mumbai, India, to London Luton airport, the ultra-large business jet covered a ground distance of 4,015nm (7,435km) in 9h 15min. "This distance is equivalent to 8,150km with no headwind," says Embraer. Meanwhile the Brazilian airframer has delivered a Lineage 1000 to the Al Habtoor Group Dubai. The aircraft is managed and operated by luxury charter operator Royal Jet. The deal was originally announced in July 2008.
RUSSIAN APPROVAL
AgustaWestland has clinched Russian validation for its AW139 medium-twin helicopter. The approval paves the way for the Anglo-Italian airframer to expand its footprint within the country where it has recently completed a four-week demonstration tour with the helicopter. A final assembly line is now being built for the AW139 in Moscow as part of a joint venture agreement between Russian Helicopters and AgustaWestland. More than 20 will be assembled at the 40,000m² (430,570ft²) site by 2015, says Russian Helicopters.
