KING AIR AVIONICS
Garmin has received European supplemental type certification for its G1000 avionics suite in the Beechcraft King Air 200 and B200s. The approval paves the way for Garmin to begin offering the glass cockpit as a retrofit for the twin-engined turboprop series. Standard features of the G1000 avionics suite include Class-B terrain awareness and warning system, dual integrated solid-state attitude and heading reference systems, dual integrated digital air data computers and provide a weight saving for the King Air 200 of around 90kg (200lb).
3D COMPLETIONS
Dassault Falcon has received Federal Aviation Administration approval to use 3D data for type design in the completions process of its Falcon business jets. The validation applies to completions for production aircraft, namely the large-cabin 900 and 2000 series, and the long-range 7X, which is the first aircraft to be fully approved to use 3D data throughout the manufacturing process.
ABS APPROVAL
Czech business aircraft services provider ABS Jets has received authorisation to carry out maintenance of UAE-registered aircraft. The Prague-based company has obtained CAR145 approval to maintain Embraer Legacy 600 and Phenom 100/300s. Established in 2004, ABS says it is making a "massive" investment in infrastructure and facilities, increasing its capacity by building a new hangar at Prague airport and refurbishing its existing hangar.
STANDARD AGREEMENT
StandardAero has signed a 10-year agreement with Australia's Pel-Air Aviation to provide maintenance on the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42 engines that power its fleet of Beechcraft King Air B200s. The twin-engined turboprops are used to provide emergency medical services support for Melbourne-based Ambulance Victoria.
