Embraer recorded a 33% increase in shipments of its large-cabin-class business jet family in the third quarter of 2016, on the back of strong demand for its Legacy 450. However, the overall delivery picture for its executive aircraft line-up was less positive for the period.
The company shipped 25 aircraft for the three months ending 30 September: 13 light jets – one Phenom 100E and 12 Phenom 300s – and 12 large jets, comprising six Legacy 450s, four Legacy 500s and two Legacy 650s.
This compares with the third quarter of 2015 when it delivered 30 light- and large-category jets – three Phenom 100Es, 18 Phenom 300s, three Legacy 500s and six Legacy 650s.
Overall deliveries for the first nine months of 2016 were up by one unit year-on-year to 74, while Embraer ended the third quarter with a $21.4 billion order backlog.
