Germany’s largest business aircraft operator, FAI rent-a-jet, is adding an Airbus ACJ319 VIP airliner to its 24-strong line-up of traditional business jets and turboprops.
The 2000-built narrowbody – registration D-AXTI – will be the largest aircraft in FAI’s fleet when its enters service early next year, following what the Nuremberg-based company calls an “extensive cabin upgrade”.
The new configuration will feature first-class seating for 29 passengers and a VIP bathroom with shower, and will be equipped with the latest communications and in-flight entertainment technology, including high-speed connectivity and wireless iPad controls, says FAI.
D-AXTI will have a range of more than 5,000nm (9,250km), it adds, giving a flight duration of about 11h.

“While there is plenty of supply in the charter market up to 19 passengers, we have something very unique in this class with our 29-seat layout,” says FAI chairman Siegfried Axtmann. “The ACJ will be excellent for corporate shuttles, groups, music and sports tours, and conference and incentive [packages].”
According to Flight Fleets Analyzer, the International Aero Engines V2500-powered aircraft (MSN1256) was first owned by French operator Aero Services Executive, before its sale in 2007 to Portuguese charter company White Airways. It was parked earlier this year, on the Isle of Man register, prior to its acquisition by FAI.
The German operator provides charter, management and air ambulance services with its 24-strong fleet.
