Hawaii start-up charter operator Wing Spirit has announced that its total HondaJet Elite fleet will number 15, following the delivery of its first two examples earlier this month.
“Wing Spirit’s purchase of 15 aircraft to operate throughout the Hawaiian Islands is a realisation of our goal to expand the world’s business jet market,” says Honda Aircraft president and chief executive Michimasa Fujino.
The announcement brings some clarity to Wing Spirit’s orderbook for the HondaJet Elite following a June 2018 order for an undisclosed number of the light twins.
The company will use the aircraft as VIP transports between the Hawaiian islands. It is also considering missions such as air ambulance “aviation education opportunities.”
No details were given as to the price of the deal, or about delivery timetables.
“When deciding how we could best provide convenient and luxurious transportation to the residents and tourists in Hawaii, the HondaJet was a natural choice,” says Sal Miwa, chief operating officer of Wing Spirit.
“We are thrilled to expand our fleet to 15 HondaJets and for our customers to experience the most technologically advanced jet in its class.”
