Honeywell Aerospace has appointed Danish aftermarket services company Satair to distribute its JetWave high-speed, in-flight connectivity system to maintenance, repair and overhaul providers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, as well as its dealer network across the region.
The agreement builds on established global distribution arrangements between the two companies. Airbus-owned Satair is also responsible for inventory management and supply of automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast (ADS-B) systems on business aircraft featuring the Primus II avionics suite, and for shipping several products within the Honeywell Sensing portfolio.
JetWave is described by Honeywell as a "powerful communication system", that delivers access to Inmarsat's Jet ConneX Ka-band satellite communications network to provide high-speed internet into the cabin to connect multiple devices. "It allows travellers to keep in touch with their business teams, stream live TV and join video conferences to give global connectivity from take-off to touchdown," it says.
Satair says it has invested in a large inventory of JetWave shipsets and components, so it can offer immediate delivery to customers and "ease the management of the installation".
