Daher has high hopes for its TBM 910 in the air taxi market following Europe’s approval of charter operations using single-engined turbprops.
The French company is showing both the TBM 910 and its higher-spec TBM 930 sibling at the show, and Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice-president of the Daher Airplane business unit, says the fast turboprop is seeing “increased interest from commercial operators for its unmatched performance-to-cost ratio”.
The new European Aviation Safety Agency regulations bring the region more into line with the USA, and permit single-engined turboprops to be used to carry fare-paying customers so long as they are pressurised and able to operate in instrument meteorological conditions and in darkness.

Until now, six-seat TBM aircraft have been popular with owner flyers and corporate flight departments, who do not have to adhere to as strict rules as charter operators.
The TBM 910 was launched early this year to replace the TBM 900, and comes with a Garmin G1000 NXi all-glass integrated flightdeck, which replaces the previous G1000 configuration.
The TBM 910 also features cabin interior enhancements with new seat shapes and additional fittings, which are identical to the high-end TBM 930, unveiled last year. The main difference with the TBM 930 is that the latter variant has a more sophisticated touch-screen cockpit.
