Poland is to acquire three Boeing 737-800s for VIP transport missions – two new BBJ 2s and a secondhand airliner – in a deal with the airframer worth $523 million.
Warsaw's first aircraft from the order – the converted airliner – will delivered by 15 November 2017. This is mandated to be no more than five years old, and will be configured in a two-class layout, with a 12-seat business class cabin and 120 economy seats.
The pair of BBJ 2s will feature a four-person head-of-state compartment, as well as seating for two VIPs, 12 business-class passengers and 48 people in economy, the nation's defence ministry says.
Poland expects the aircraft to be delivered by 15 September and 15 November 2020.
The deal also includes two years of logistical support, as well as pilot training.
In November, 2016 Warsaw announced that it had ordered a pair of Gulfstream G550 business jets for VIP transport missions. Both aircraft are scheduled for delivery in August 2017.
