ILFC SUSPENDS RENTALS ON HAITI RELIEF FLIGHTS

International Lease Finance has suspended lease rentals for non-revenue Haiti relief flights from the 12 January earthquake until the end of February. ILFC, which owns around 1,000 aircraft on lease to 175 airlines, has called on other lessors to follow its lead.


PRESSURE FOR CABINS MAKER

Falling sales and profits in all divisions left cabin interior products and consumables management company B/E Aerospace with a 16% decline in operating profit, to $296 million, on 2009 sales down 8% to $1.94 billion. In 2008, B/E would have made an operating profit of $354 million, but a $390 million asset impairment charge pushed it $36.2 million into the red.


HONEYWELL PROFITS DIP

At Honeywell, aerospace segment pre-tax profits dipped 18% to $1.9 billion as sales dropped 15% to $10.8 billion last year. Fourth-quarter figures were slightly worse - profits were down a fifth to $496 million and sales down 18% at $2.7 billion.


A380? THAT'S $346 MILLION, PLEASE

Airbus has increased its list prices by an average of 5.8% for 2010, taking the catalogue cost of an A380 to $346 million and the A350 range to $225-285 million. Single-aisle prices rise to $63-96 million across the portfolio.


AEROTEC TAKES OVER AIRBUS BREMEN UNIT

EADS's wholly owned German aerostructures subsidiary Premium Aerotec has expanded with the absorption of the former Airbus parts manufacturing unit in Bremen. Aerotec and its French counterpart Aerolia were created last year as part of an Airbus drive to cut costs and have the long-term objective of winning significant volumes of non-Airbus work.


ROLLS-ROYCE IN CONTROL AT BLADES MAKER

Rolls-Royce has acquired the remaining 49% share in Europea Microfusioni Aerospaziali from Finmeccanica, taking its holding in the Italian micro-castings maker to 100%. Aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce engines with EMA blades include the Airbus A380, Boeing 787, 757, 767 and 747, Gulfstream executive jets, Eurofighter and other military fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft.


JAL UNVEILS NEW SLIMMER MANAGEMENT TEAM

Two weeks after filing for bankruptcy protection, Japan Airlines unveiled a younger, streamlined executive management led by group chairman Kazuo Inamori and president Masaru Onishi. The carrier eliminated the managing executive officer position and reduced the number of executive officers by 11.


AEROMOBILE EXITS ADMINISTRATION

In-flight mobile connectivity provider AeroMobile has emerged from administration as a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian telecoms giant Telenor. AeroMobile was created in 2003 as a 50/50 joint venture between Arinc and Telenor, but by the time it went into administration on 21 December Arinc held just 0.12%.


GE EXTENDS TURKEY COLLABORATION

GE Aviation and Turkish Aerospace have renewed for 25 years their Tusas Engine Industries joint venture, which began in 1985 to make F110s for Turkish air force Lockheed Martin F-16s.
