Research by American Express suggests that business fares in Europe have risen in the wake of the US attacks. October business class fares from western Europe to North America rose by between 2.3% and 3.5%, while first- class fares rose from 3.2% to 5.4% compared with the third quarter. The report says there have been price hikes on certain key routes as capacity is cut.
