SEA TURTLES Gulf of Mexico wildlife is not getting many breaks these days, but FedEx Express has come to the aid of efforts to protect sea turtles from the oil spill by helping transport hundreds of nests containing thousands of eggs to Florida's Atlantic coast, from now until the hatching season. "Given our strong relationship with FedEx, we were able to move quickly to develop an effective plan," says National Fish and Wildlife Foundation director Jeff Trandahl.

CHINESE AIRLINES A widening corruption investigation into China's aviation industry has reportedly led to the suicide of central and southern region Civil Aviation Administration director Liu Yajun, who died after a high-speed train knocked him down on 24 June. In addition, airline officials reportedly out of work because of the probe into allegations of cash paid in exchange for landing slots include China Southern Airlines chief engineer Zhang He Ping.
