CARLYLE GROUP The global alternative asset manager with a keen interest in small to medium aerospace manufacturers, including spare parts maker Chromalloy, got a $500 million boost from Mubadala Development, the Abu Dhabi government's strategic investment vehicle charged with delivering the economic diversification of the oil-rich emirate. AIRPORTS As snow turned London Heathrow into a refugee camp and left many other European hubs in chaos, European transport commissioner Siim Kallas said he had no sympathy for airport operators because snow in western Europe is "not such an exceptional circumstance".
