Etihad safety, Luxair flight operations, LCI general counsel

Etihad has appointed Mohamed Abubaker Farea, a former director of the United Arab Emirates' General Civil Aviation Authority and chairman of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission Safety and Standard Committee, as vice-president safety, security and quality. United Airlines has named Timothy Canavan as vice-president maintenance and aircraft appearance.

Ray Miller has been promoted to vice-president and general manager of Universal Avionics' instrument division. Marion Broughton and Pascal Cléré are now managing directors at Thales Simulation in the UK and France Michel Masselin is Training Solutions director.

Luxair has named Capt Daniel Colling as vice-president of flight operations, to succeed the retiring Bror Sjorgren. Colling has been with Luxair for 17 years.

Terri Griffiths has joined Lease Corporation International as general counsel in Dublin. Mooney Airplane has promoted its manufacturing director, Chad Nelson, to vice-president operations.

ITT has hired Allen Boyd as vice-president, Tactical Communications Systems he was a senior director at Rockwell Collins. Brian McGuire is now president of Monogram Aerospace Fasteners.
