Alliant Techsystems, which is increasing its presence in the space sector and forecasting a $100 million revenue boost with the acquisition of Swales Aerospace. ATK says the deal will position it as a key provider of satellite components, subsystems and small spacecraft to NASA, the Department of Defense and commercial customers. It intends to make Swales' facility the headquarters for the new ATK Space division, incorporating parts of ATK's space business.

CAE. The Canadian simulator manufacturer has been forced to extend the deadline on its offer to buy shares in Engenuity Technologies after failing to obtain the 90% stake that would allow it to fast track the software specialist's delisting from the Toronto stock exchange. Montreal-based CAE issued a bid valued at C$23 million ($19.9 million) in February to buy the entire stock of Engenuity. The 85.4% stake, or 14.9 million shares, it has bought so far have cost it almost C$18 million. |
