Allegheny Technologies, which has signed a long-term agreement to supply Boeing's commercial aerospace unit with titanium bar, billet, ingot, plate, rectangle and sheet. Pennsylvania-based Allegheny predicts the deal will generate about $2.5 billion in revenue using base prices from 2007 through to 2015. "Through this long-term agreement [Allegheny] becomes a major supplier to Boeing," says Allegheny chief executive Patrick Hassey.

Thielert The German engine manufacturer's shares plummeted to a low of €17.50 ($21.90) after allegations of fraud at the company just before its 2004 initial public offering (IPO) were leaked anonymously to Germany's association for protection of shareholders (SdK) and to the media. The share price recovered its losses but the company hit out at the SdK, expressing its "astonishment at the behaviour of the SdK for allowing itself to be used in this way to propagate unfounded accusations". |
