A Hughes-led team has been awarded a £5 million (£8.2 million) project definition and risk-reduction study contract by the UK Ministry of Defence as part of its Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) project to replace the British Aerospace Skyflash. A study is also expected to be awarded to Matra BAe Dynamics.
