The US Air Force has awarded BFGoodrich a follow-on order for 875 carbon brake components for its fleet of Lockheed Martin C-5A/B transports. The $14.2 million contract covers carbon heat sinks used and stop aircraft when hydraulic pressure is applied. Deliveries will start late next year. The US equipment supplier has also won a deal to provide primary brake overhaul support for the USAF Thunderbirds Lockheed Martin F-16 demonstration team based at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas.
