Simulator specialist CAE Electronics (W818) is helping helicopter pilots fine tune their flying skills in an environment very close to the real thing.

The Canadian company, which manufactures an array of full-flight simulators, training devices and visual systems both for the rotary and fixed wing market, has notched up a number of important contracts in recent times.

The Royal Navy has taken delivery of a Westland Lynx Mk8 simulator and CAE is also working on technology that will replicate the cabin of the EH Industries EH 101 Merlin.

CAE has secured business from the UK Ministry of Defence with the award of the Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility contract. As prime contractor, the company will be responsible for the provision of a full scope total training system for the RAF.
