CAE and IndiGo parent company InterGlobe Enterprises have opened a new joint venture pilot training facility in India, and have announced a new long-term training agreement with carrier GoAir.
The CAE Simulation Training facility, located in Greater Noida near New Delhi, has six simulator bays and the capacity to train over 5,000 pilots a year. It presently features two Airbus A320 simulators certified to level D status, and has been training IndiGo pilots.
“This new facility will not only better serve the rapidly growing regional carrier market in the region, but also provide our customers with the flexibility and proximity they want as well as the highest fidelity and reliability for their training programmes,” says CAE president and chief executive Marc Parent.
CAE also announced that it has signed on GoAir as a long-term customer for the facility, with the first pilots from the carrier to enter training in December.
It is the fourth training facility operated by CAE in India. The company has another fixed-wing type rating training centre in Bengaluru and two ab-initio flight training schools in Gondia and Rae Bareli. It is also a joint venture partner with Hindustan Aeronautics in the HATSOFF helicopter training centre in Bengaluru.
