China Airlines (CAL) has finalised its expected firm order for 12 Airbus A330-300s. Completion of the contract will allow Airbus to add the widebody twins to its order tally for 2002. CAL also placed an order with Boeing on 28 November for six passenger 747-400s and four -400 freighters. The Taiwanese carrier has not yet selected an engine for the A330s or 747s. The A330s will replace A300-600Rs on short- and medium-haul routes.
