Canadian conversion company Field Aviation has won a contract from Sojitz of Japan to convert three Bombardier Dash 8-300 turboprops into maritime patrol/search and rescue configuration for the Japan coastguard. The twin-engined aircraft will be modified in Toronto following delivery in the fourth quarter and will be handed over about 12 months later.
