Size really doesn't count, as far as MicroPilot (Stand A402A) is concerned.

The Canadian company makes miniature autopilots and accessories for the unmanned air vehicle (UAVs) market and is here to show off what it describes as the smallest unit of its kind in the world.

Packed into the 28g frame of the MP2028g autopilot are all the features of a full-size autopilot system including airspeed hold, altitude hold, turn co-ordination, GPS navigation and autonomous operation from launch to recovery.

Offered with MP2028g is HORIZONmp ground-control software, offering a user-friendly point-and-click interface for mission planning. Developed by MicroPilot, HORIZONmp runs on Windows PCs and allows the operator to monitor the autopilot, change waypoints, upload new flightplans, initiate holding patterns and adjust feedback-loop gains while the UAV is airborne.

Being launched here at Asian Aerospace is the XTENDERmp software developer's kit (SDK), designed to take MP2028g's basic functionality and expands it to meet customer-specific requirements. MicroPilot's global 200-operator customer base includes clients in Singapore, Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, India and Taiwan.
