The Canadian Government is selling the country's air-navigation system to a non-profit-making corporation owned by Canada's airlines, aircraft manufacturers and unions. NAV Canada has agreed to pay C$1.5 billion ($1.09 billion) for the system. The sale, operative from 1 April 1996, will mark the first time that a national air-navigation system ownership has been transferred to the private sector.
