BP Amoco has announced that it plans to sell off its Canadian oilfields to focus more on natural gas production.
Industry observers say the sale - in separate lots - could raise almost $1 billion and affect about 250 jobs. The fields to be hived off produce an average 60,000 barrels a day - their reserves are estimated to stand at about 350 million barrels.
