Hong Kong's airport authority has signed an agreement with the Singapore-led Asia Air Freight Terminal consortium to build and operate a cargo-handling site at the new Chek Lap Kok Airport. The 20-year franchise calls for the construction of a $103 million terminal, capable of handling 400,000t of freight a year. Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals (HACTL) will operate a second, larger, freight centre.
