Cargo ban

Chemical oxygen-generators are now banned permanently as cargo on US passenger airlines, according to a new US Department of Transportation ruling. The Federal Aviation Administration had already put a temporary ban on such cargo since it was determined that a fire caused by oxygen generators was the likely cause of the 11 May, 1996, ValuJet McDonnell Douglas DC-9 crash, in which 110 peple died.
