A design freeze for the new-technology heavy-logistics airship being built by joint German/US company CargoLifter was announced on 17 December, and the commission for building the huge construction hangar at Brand, near Berlin, was awarded two days later. The rigid airship will be 260m long with a helium capacity of 550,000m³ (19.4 million ft³).
