Cargolux Italia has appointed Pierandrea Galli as its chief executive and accountable manager, effective 1 January 2012.
Galli has over 23 years of experience in the aviation industry and has worked at both Alitalia and Toronto-based Skylink, said Cargolux in a statement.
His previous positions at Alitalia include managing director Americas and senior vice-president cargo.
His most recent role was executive vice-president Europe and Middle East at Skylink Aviation.
Cargolux Italia began operations in June 2009, using a Boeing 747-400 freighter. It is a joint venture between Luxembourg-based Cargolux and an Italian holding company.
