Flight International online news 10:30GMT: Luxembourg all-cargo carrier Cargolux is expecting to conclude negotiations towards a ten-strong Boeing 747 Advanced freighter order within the next four months.

CargoLux - BIG

Although Boeing has yet to publicly commit to building the 747 Advanced, earlier this year Cargolux’s board gave the go-ahead to begin negotiations towards an order for the proposed type.

Cargolux  says it expects these talks to “have a result” within three or four months.

The freight carrier has previously said that it would want deliveries to begin in 2009, coinciding with a possible launch date previously indicated by Boeing.

Cargolux operates 13 Boeing 747-400 freighters. It was due to take delivery of another example of the type next month, but this has been postponed due to strike action at the US manufacturer.
