Greece's Casino Rodos has purchased an executive British Aerospace 146-200 from BAE Systems, which will be used to transport clients to its casino on Rhodes.
Casino Rodos manages the casino in the Grande Albergo delle Rose hotel on the island. The 146 being acquired is a 21-year old example, serial number 2079, formerly operated by British Airways and Air France's CityJet division.
"Commercial airline schedules to Rhodes usually involve multiple flights and Casino Rodos wants to be able to offer its valued clientele the convenience and comfort of high-quality personal executive transport to get to and from the casino," says Casino Rodos president Enrico Aidan.
The aircraft will be converted to accommodate 34 passengers and operated by Athens-based charter company GainJet Aviation, whose executive fleet includes Boeing 757 and MD-83 aircraft. London Stansted-based Inflite Engineering Services will carry out the interior conversion.
