Cathay makes more management changes

Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways has unveiled another round of senior management changes that take effect from this summer.

Augustus Tang has been named director corporate development, Quince Chong will take on the position of director service delivery, and Ron Mathison will become director and general manager cargo.

The appointments were made shortly after the airline named chief operating officer Philip Chen as chief executive-designate to take over from David Turnbull at the end of the year.

Tang is currently director corporate planning in addition to being a board director of both Cathay Pacific Catering Services and Air Hong Kong. As director corporate development he will replace Tony Tyler, who was recently named chief operating officer-designate taking over from Chen at the end of this year.

Chong is currently general manager in-flight services. As director service delivery she will be replacing Robert Cutler who is moving to John Swire & Sons (Hong Kong), which is part of the Swire Group that controls Cathay through Hong Kong-listed Swire Pacific.

Mathison is currently general manager of Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes. He will replace Kenny Tang as general manager cargo, although the position is being upgraded to a director-level role.
