Cathay Pacific Airways has repainted one of its Boeing 747-200s in a special colour scheme to mark the UK's hand-over of Hong Kong to China on 30 June. The "Heart of Asia" design, depicting Hong Kong's skyscraper skyline, took 18 days to paint. The airline is reporting up to a 15% increase in traffic on routes between Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia during the hand-over period, as well as higher demand on its services to Frankfurt, London, Manchester and Vancouver.
