IBM and Dassault Systems have teamed with Rockwell to develop a "seamless" computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system to support the latter company's bid for NASA's X-33 advanced-technology demonstrator programme. Under the process-managed-environment initiative, the three companies are working to extend the use of the IBM/Dassault CATIA CAD/ CAM package to cover space systems such as the X-33.
