Flight International online news 09:30GMT: A Cessna 172 Skyhawk has crashed in the mountainous region near Simplondorf in southern Switzerland killing all four passengers on board.

Swiss police report the single-engine light aircraft came down in the Valais canton at 15:40 local time on 23 August.

The Czech-registered aircraft, OK-HOF, took off at 14:50 from Locarno airport in Switzerland and was heading towards Friedrichshafen in Bavaria, Germany.

The state police and the Swiss federal Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau are investigating the crash.

As yet, Valais police say there is no information as to the cause of the crash and the identity of the victims has yet to be determined.
