CFM International, a joint venture between General Electric of the USA and France's Safran, has received design organisation approval (DOA) from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The DOA is intended to rival the US Federal Aviation Administration's supplemental type certificate as a globally recognised certification standard.
