A chartered Boeing 737 crashed near Havana airport shortly after take-off today, with 104 passengers and crew on board.
The flight was operating a scheduled charter flight to Holguin on behalf of Cuban tour operator Cubatur.
The owner of the 737 is not immediately clear, but a source at Cuba's transport ministry says the 737 is owned by Mexican charter carrier Damojh Airlines, which operates two Boeing 737-200s.
FlightGlobal understands that the flight was initially scheduled to operate with a 737 belonging to Italy's Blue Panorama. However, a representative at Blue Panorama tells FlightGlobal its aircraft was not involved in the accident.
