Aviation Industries China has developed two unmanned air vehicles (UAV) which appear to share a platform.

Both feature a bullet-shaped fuselage with a low mounted swept wing. One design appears to be equipped for reconnaissance while the other has a pod above the fuselage, probably for electronic warfare or electronic intelligence missions. The latter has twin fins, possibly to prevent aerodynamic blanking from the large pod. The horizontal tailplane is mounted at the top of the fuselage.

The UAVs may be intended to succeed the Chang-Hong 1, a reverse-engineered copy of Northrop BQM-34 Firebees shot down during the Vietnam War. The Chang-Hong is made by the Beijing University of Astronautics and Aeronautics, while smaller UAVs for the army are made by the Northwest University of Astronautics and Aeronautics.
