Virgin America and China Eastern Airlines have applied for authorisation with the US Department of Transportation to codeshare.
China Eastern plans to place its code on flights operated by Virgin America betwen Los Angeles and Boston, Dallas Love Field, Dallas/Fort Worth, Fort Lauderdale, New York John F. Kennedy, Las Vegas, Chicago and Seattle.
The Shanghai-based carrier also plans to place its code on Virgin America's flights between San Francisco and Dallas Love Field, Dallas/Fort Worth, Newark, Washington Dulles, New York JFK, Las Vegas, Chicago, Seattle and San Diego.
China Eastern currently operates to Los Angeles and San Francisco from Shanghai, schedules in Innovata show.
