The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has ordered Chinese regional carrier China Express Airlines to suspend its operations following a landing incident at Guiyang Airport.
On 28 August, a Bombardier CRJ200 operated by the airline scraped its right wing against the runway while landing at Guiyang after a flight from Shijiazhuang.
No one was injured in the incident, but the CAAC has ordered the airline to suspend operations as of yesterday, says China Express.
The CAAC has ordered the airline to carry out a review of its safety operations and investigate the incident, say reports.
The move follows a fatal air crash on 24 August involving a Henan Airlines Embraer 190 at Yichun Airport. The incident prompted Chinese authorities and carriers to carry out a review of safety procedures.
China Express, also known as Huaxia Airlines, is based in Guiyang and operates a fleet of four CRJ200s. It operates to smaller cities within China but has said it plans to begin international flights soon.
