China Southern has chosen Panasonic to supply its eX2 in-flight entertainment (IFE) system on 10 of its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, with deliveries due to begin in 2008.

The eX2 system is the next generation of Panasonic’s X Series advanced in-flight digital entertainment and high speed communication system. The system offers airlines more storage, more passengers per audio/video server and speedier loading times. It contains more than 50 applications and services, offers a variety of handsets and comes with high-resolution display.

“We are very pleased with our selection of the Panasonic’s eX2 system. We strive to provide the absolute best in-flight services for our passengers,” said Yuan Xin’an, vice president of China Southern.

“China is the fastest-growing aviation market in the world and we are proud that our premier eX2 system will be installed on the Boeing 787, one of the most important aircraft in China Southern’s fleet of the future,” adds Paul Margis, Panasonic’s CEO.
