China Southern Airlines has started a cargo service on the Shanghai-Urumqi-Frankfurt route.
The twice-weekly service is operated on a Boeing 777 Freighter, says a spokesman at the Guangzhou-based carrier. This is China Southern's first cargo service to Frankfurt.
He adds that the route was supposed to start late last year, but was delayed due to weak market conditions.
Air China, British Airways, Grandstar Cargo, Jade Cargo, Lufthansa and Shanghai Airlines all offer services on the Shanghai-Frankfurt route.
