China Southern Airlines will be taking delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 aircraft on 31 May.
The aircraft is due to arrive at the carrier's base in Guangzhou on the morning of 2 June.
The jet will first be used on domestic services, likely those from Guangzhou to major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, before being deployed on international routes.
China Southern's 787s will have 228 seats in a three-class configuration - four in first class, 24 in business and another 200 in economy.

On 23 May, the Civil Aviation Administration of China issued type certification to the 787-8, paving the way for the type's entry into the Chinese market.
China Southern will likely receive half of its 10 -8s on order within the year. Flightglobal's Ascend Online database shows that Hainan Airlines will be the second Chinese operator of the type and is scheduled to take its first -8 in June, and a total of seven by year-end.
Chinese carriers have a total of 35 787s on order, including 15 -9s from Air China and 10 -8s each from China Southern and Hainan Airlines.
