A Shenyang-based company is looking to acquire a mid-size business jet and become the first non-airline in China to offer corporate charters. Industry sources say several manufacturers are in talks to sell one mid-size business jet to a private Shenyang-based start-up company that is not affiliated with any existing airline or operator. Currently business jet charters are only operated by four airlines in China – Air China, Hainan Airlines, Shandong Airlines and Shanghai Airlines – but the recent introduction of Part 135 regulations makes it easier for other companies to launch charter operations with aircraft seating up to 30 passengers. Sources say the Shenyang company is one of several proposed start-ups seeking Part 135 certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
