The Shenzhen Public Security Bureau in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen has ordered an AugustaWestland AW139 helicopter.
It will use this medium twin helicopter for law enforcement, disaster relief, transport and control missions in Shenzhen and other areas of Guangdong province, says AugustaWestland.
The AW139 has large sliding doors - for quick and easy access - and the helicopter has a maximum speed of 167 knots, so it can be deployed quickly to any crime or accident scene, says the helicopter-maker.
This is the second AW139 that has been ordered in China for law enforcement missions, The Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau ordered the first.
Augusta Westland also says that the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau already operates an AW109 light twin helicopter.
